Fire that has already destroyed 71 homes is moving towards Shady Hills, with shifting winds hampering containment efforts
Containment lines standing between an out-of-control bushfire and the township of Shady Hills on the outskirts of Perth were being tested on Thursday as gale force winds pushed the blaze towards homes.
The fire has destroyed at least 71 houses, and federal drought and emergency management minister, David Littleproud, has said that number had likely risen overnight.
