There are so many new exposure sites in NSW, NSW Health couldn’t fit them all into one email. It looks to be over 100.
That comes after reports that contact tracers are being overwhelmed by the number of infections, and where they have been. There have been delays in listing exposure sites on the website, as contact tracers do their best to work out where people have been, which has not been helped by reports of late alerts being sent out that someone may have been to an exposure sites, meaning there is a reliance on people checking the lists themselves.
There’s been some movement on an issue we covered back in March – illegal online casinos that operate from offshore and target Australian gamblers.
The Australian Communications and Media Authority has powers to block these websites but, as we reported, hasn’t really succeeded in getting them offline, let alone prosecuting the people behind them.
